Change Management

Change is inevitable, it happens all the time, and should be beneficial. Some is dramatic and unpredicted, some is thrust upon us, and some we determine for ourselves. Ideally, those who want change, who strive towards finding a better way, will be able to initate change achieving buy-in from the people involved in order to achieve success.

In achieving change we will face uncertainty and unwillingness, and need to help others to change if the goals are to be attained.

All projects involve change, recognition of which led to the creation of the following articles which are all adapted from material first published by London Connects and, in some cases, eGov Monitor.

Some were also included in material published or quoted elsewhere. For example, Kent Surrey and Sussex hospitals used some of these Change Management articles in their Draft Guidance Change Resource Pack. An Australian organisation asked to quote material.

I wrote them while I was Programme Manager for one of over 20 National Projects funded by what was then the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, and subsequently became Communities for Local Government.
