The Future of Work

The November 2013 meeting of the Richmond Group included a discussion on The Future of Work. While the event agenda said that I was facilitating the discussion, in fact it was facilitated by me with David Corless, another RG member. David drew on a wide variety of sources and began with a discussion on what makes work work?

Following the meeting Mike Clargo, one of Richmond Group's members, has written a blog:

At the meeting I included an edited version of a presentation which provided some context to the future of work, including major changes to demographics, climate, and technology all of which will affect the work we do and the ways in which we do it.

The full presentation is here: What will the Built Environment look like 20 years from now?. It was provided by Professor Tim Broyd, Chair in Built Environment Foresight, UCL and Vice President, ICE, at the Institution of Civil Engineers BIM Conference on 16 October 2013. Tim Broyd has kindly permitted me to include his presentation here.

ICE has run three annual conferences on BIM, Building Information Modelling, and this year it attracted 350 delegates.

There is a discussion on The Future of Work on the Richmond Group's Linked In pages. Please join that discussion or send me your views. What is The Future of Work?
